Community Resilience Partnership

The Community Resilience Partnership (CRP) is a Maine state initiative launched in 2021 to assist municipalities, tribal governments, and unorganized territories in reducing carbon emissions, transitioning to clean energy, and enhancing resilience against climate change impacts such as extreme storms, flooding, and sea-level rise. Administered by the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, the program aligns with Maine’s four-year climate action plan, Maine Won’t Wait

About Shoreline Stabilization and Vegetation Management Plan

Project Outline

This scope of work memorandum is in response to a request from the Town of Cherryfield’sRiverwalk Committee (CRC)

for a Shoreline Stabilization and Vegetation Management Plan (the Plan). FB Environmental (FBE) understands the

project's objective is to provide the Town of Cherryfield with a Plan that addresses flooding, erosion, and

stormwater runoff management along the Riverwalk, which abuts the Narraguagus River. Threats to infrastructure along

the trail will be identified, and recommendations will be made to improve the riparian buffer's and shoreline stability's resiliency and quality. The project will incorporate inclusive engagement with community members throughout the

process to ensure that the Plan has wide community support and represents the priorities of the Town. Additionally,

community volunteers will be engaged throughout, helping to collect baseline data, participating in community

meetings, and implementing the recommended action items through volunteer workdays.

Our Goal

Our Goal with this project is to better protect the river banks from eroding away and also better manage vegetation around the river banks. This work will help guide community projects around the river better. With imperial evidence to back those products. Improving the river for generations to come. This project aims to bring together the community around the river that runs through it by studying it closely.
